WHAT'S IN MY MAKEUP BAG

Hi Beauties,

Today's post is all about what's in my makeup bag :). To be completely honest, as much as I love makeup I just don't carry a makeup bag in my hand bag. My makeup last pretty much all day and I rarely need touch ups, except now for my lips that needs a touch up every few hours, other than that i'm sorted.

The what's in my makeup bag post are mainly things that I seriously can't go without and are practically my everyday makeup products.

GARNIER PURE ACTIVE BB CREAM

My number 1 BB Cream in the world! This is one product I definitely can't go without, it's my everyday beauty balm, it keeps my skin hydrated and looking fresh. What I love about this product is that it's oil free, doesn't cause breakout, its SPF 15 and it last all day.

  • All-In-One Anti-Imperfections
  • Even tones
  • Hydrates
  • Anti-blackheads
  • Mattifies
  • Covers redness

This is one product i'm always using and sometimes I blend it with other bronzer's on my skin.

I'm a huge fan of L.A Girl products and to me they are the most affordable good quality beauty brands, and there products never disappoint. I love that these glosses are matte because I have a weakness for matte lipsticks lol. They very pigmented and always in my bag :)

In the past I made use of the brow pencil and gel however, they didn't work that well for me and that's when I went out shopping and discovered this gorgeous brow kit. I will be doing a full review on this product soon and i'm also hoping to do a brow tutorial as well, but for now believe me when I say that this brow kit from essence cosmetics will change your brows and your life lol.

  • Come's in 3 different brow shades & a highlighter
  • Comes with applicator and tweezers
  • Super affordable

Now that is all i'm currently in my makeup bag at the moment.

MY CURRENT FOUNDATION MUST HAVES

 MY CURRENT FOUNDATION MUST HAVES!

Searching for the right foundation can be so hard at times especially when you have no one to assist you. I was in to make at a very young age and I remember when I bought my first foundation, it was the completely wrong foundation for my skin tone because I ended up looking as white as a ghost. Over the years I haven't made use of foundation only because I was struggling to find the perfect foundation for my skin tone, I eventually found the perfect foundation from two brands that I love.

The first Foundation that I'm crazy about is the MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID, this is one brand that I will always go back to. The MAC Studio Fix Foundation is a thickish liquid which is packaged in a glass jar, this foundation is a medium to buildable full coverage, and it definitely evens out your skin, hiding all imperfections. This foundation sets quite fast and it sets to a semi matte finish, which is great because I love a combination of dewy and matte. The Studio Fix Foundation last reasonably long however, it might differ depending on your skin tone. The shade I have is NC35 (NC - Yellow Under Tones & NW - Pink Under Tones), and I absolutely love this foundation, I would recommend it if you struggling to find a foundation which is right for you and if you do not know what shade is best for your skin tone, don't worry about because the girls at MAC will help you out.

The second foundation that I've also been using lately is the Bobbi Brown foundation stick. This foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation with a soft matte finish, which is great for combination skin. The texture of this foundation is very creamy and smooth and does a great job covering up any imperfections, as much as enjoy using this foundation stick I prefer Bobbi Brown liquid foundation more because that one omw is amazing. However, I'll do a review on that one another time, but overall this foundation is great and this is also one of the foundation that I will recommend.

When applying these foundations it would be best to apply them using a brush because then you will get the best finish. The brushes I use and will recommend would be the  Real Techniques Experts Face Brush and the Stippling Brush.

PART 2: THE MONTH OF LOVE

Hello my beauties,

I know it's been almost two weeks since I last posted anything, but I've been crazy busy because I started a new job and things were so hectic that I had no time for anything however, I'm settled now and ready to start posting again.

I know this blog post is way overdue, but like they say better late than never lol. I hope everyone had a lovely Valentines day and were smothered with love by the ones you love. As much as myself and my boyfriend love Valentines day we decided to do something different this year, we spent the day relaxing, watching romance movies, playing board games (our new addiction) and smothering each other with love. As simple as that sounds it was the perfect Valentine's Day for me because just being in the presence of someone who loves you is bliss.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day and even if you didn't celebrate Valentine's Day you can still celebrate it because February is the month of love, and it doesn't have to be with a girlfriend or boyfriend it can be with family member, friend or pet because its about showing love to those you care about.

These pictures were taken a while ago at Greenpoint Park

VALENTINES DAY LOOK

THE MONTH OF LOVE

Its that time of year again when the colour red seems to have taken over everything. I absolutely love Valentines Day and I have always been a sucker for romance. I believe in the kind of passionate, insane, heart-wrenching love that poets have been writing about. I think it's lovely to spend time telling someone how much you love them on Valentines Day but I think it should be about all kinds of love whether it's for your family, friends or your own self.

My boyfriend and I are currently dating for 2 years and 5 months (will be 6 months on February 17th) and this year I have no idea what we doing lol, but spending time with him is all I need. I really can’t wait for this week to finally be over just so I can smother him with my presence lol. Hopefully next week I will blog about my Valentines Day spent with my boyfriend and let you all know what we did on this special day.

I would really love to know how you guys spent your Valentines Day with that special someone, friends or family. Please feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me at @levalasco_blog.

BEING HEALTHY & FIT

BEING HEALTHY & FIT

One of my goals for this years is to be healthy and fit. So past few weeks I’ve been working out like crazy, but I’ve only really started eating healthy this week (lol) and omw it’s so hard! But I am determined to get into shape and be healthy.

Beauty is not just about looking good on the outside but also on what’s happening inside your body (inner beauty).  All the unhealthy food we consume affects our body which can cause weight gain, breakouts, depression, bloating etc. Eating healthy and exercising is a lifestyle you need to get your body use to if you want to avoid all the bad things that comes with eating unhealthy foods that are not good for your body.

In this post, I just wanted to share with you guys my current go-to foods for my health journey.
I’m in love with green smoothies! I have them in the mornings on my way to work on an empty stomach, and I also have them in the evenings before my workout.

This smoothie consists:
2 Banana’s
A hand full of spinach and kale
Some grated ginger
Unsweetened almond milk
All blended together to make a lovely fat burning green smoothie.

Oats are my favourite! If I’m not having a smoothie then I’m having my delicious jungle oats for breakfast or I’ll make a peanut butter, banana, oats and almond milk smoothie.

Rye bread: not my favourite, but I’ve been eating it lately for lunch. I do not make use of butter, all I do is add some gypsy ham, with a little cheese and some kale or I’ll have an egg white spinach omelette with a slice of rye bread and oh yes, let’s not forget my boiled eggs (lol).

My late afternoon snack is unsweetened green or black tea with and oats bar of my choice.

Remember that water is extremely good for you. You need to drink as much water as possible. I drink water all day and every day.

Eating healthy and working out is good because the more you strengthen your muscles while working out, the faster you burn fat.

MY HAIR PRODUCTS

MY HAIR PRODUCTS

When it comes to my hair I am full of nonsense, I like my hair done a certain way and I only use certain products on my hair. I honestly hate going to the salon to have my hair done because whenever I went I left the salon disappointed or with damage hair, therefore, I do my own hair because I have trust issues (lol).

I make use of 5 different shampoos but Head & Shoulders are my number one shampoo. I have very oily hair and head & shoulder helps a lot with oily hair. I only wash my hair with Head & Shoulders, however, I will make use of my other four shampoos once I’ve run out of Head & Shoulders. This shampoo is also good if you have a dry scalp, it leaves your hair soft and refreshed.
I use different conditioners on my hair even though I'm not supposed to because of how oily my hair is, but I love how soft and shiny conditioner makes my hair feel (lol). There are so many conditioners I like to use but since I had my hair coloured in December last year I’ve been using the Pantene Coloured Hair Repair & Shine Conditioner. I ombre my hair and the end were very light and with light hair you can easily see how damaged your is so, therefore, I made use of the Pantene Coloured Hair Repair & Shine conditioner. This conditioner moisturized and repaired my hair, leaving soft and silky smooth. Head & Shoulders and Pantene Coloured Hair Repair & Shine conditioner is a big thumbs up for me.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - I love this product! Especially for my hair because it soaks up the oil, refreshes my hair and it's tinted! I have tried the Tresemme dry shampoo but it didn’t work for my hair and I think it only really works well for people with light hair whereas the Batiste has a wide range of dry shampoos. The one I have is the Dark and Deep Brown with a hint of colour and then there are the ones for blonde hair, medium and brunette, vibrant red and various different scented ones. This is one product I can’t go without, it’s always in my bag and on my dresser. I like that you don’t get a powdery look when you apply this product like most other dry shampoo’s tend to leave in your hair, however, because its tinted, when you run your fingers through your hair or even scratch your head you will get the colour on your fingers but besides that this product is amazing at refreshing oily hair!

Advance Techniques Moroccan Oil - This product restores damaged hair leaving your hair silky smooth and gives it an instant shine. I would highly recommend this product, it’s formulated with argan oil, provitamin B5 and vitamin E, it helps to nourish and smooth dry damaged hair.

These products are my favourite hair products and I would definitely recommend them!

Thank you for read. I hope you enjoyed this post.

CALA BEAUTY BLENDER

CALA BEAUTY BLENDER

I have a thing for makeup brushes and my favourite brand is currently Real Techniques because their brushes are too die for but that’s a post for another day (lol). I’ve been searching for a real techniques beauty blender but whenever I’m at Foschini or clicks they are never there. My friend told me about Cala cosmetics beauty blender for sale at Dischem for cheap and that it look pretty decent.

I went to Dischem and bought one just for the sake of buying it, and it looks okay (lol). Honestly, I don’t really like it because it’s a bit too hard and it doesn’t apply makeup that well, my brushes do a better job than it. What I did was I cleaned the beauty blender and the stuck it back in the box so now it’s an ornament on my dresser because I’m never using that thing again (lol)
I really don’t like this beauty blender and just because it doesn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, and if you have it and it works well for you then thumbs up! I’m glad it’s working for someone. I am going to hunt down the real techniques beauty blender and if you guys know of any other great beauty blenders I should try out, please let me know, I will gladly purchase them.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post.
